Artisan Partnerships
In the second of our new series highlighting our Exclusive Artisan Partnerships, this month we are featuring our longstanding love of Italy and in particular Tuscany and its community of traditional knitwear and accessory specialists.
Cotswold Collections have worked with a small selection of Italian suppliers for over a decade and have strong working relationships with many of the best family run businesses in the region. This approach ensures that we support the highest quality of workmanship and artisan methods, based on long, local traditions. Many of the businesses are run by the third generation of the founding families and strongly maintain the skilled craftmanship of their ancestors.
Painters, writers and architects may have made Tuscany famous in centuries gone by, but this creative legacy is still strong today with a vibrant community of jewellery, hat, bag and garment factories. Twice a year our design team visit the area, working with the manufacturers and taking creative inspiration from the magical art and the extraordinary countryside. With the capital city Florence being the symbol of the renaissance, you cannot fail to be captivated.
Florence, the city of artisans is also home to a thriving creative sector with a number of specialist jewellery designers and we regularly seek new partnerships to extend our seasonal accessory ranges with fresh designs all ‘Made in Italy’.
As part of our quest for design perfection, our Italian partners have created some truly stunning pieces for spring/summer 2013. With jewellery lovers in mind, we have our new Cotswold chain bracelet made for us in the heart of Florence and with our unique embossed logo. Our newly launched early spring range also includes our signature Cotswold Collections scarf ring and Art Nouveau clip earrings, with soft pearlised Venetian glass beads.
