It's back! The show beloved by the nation heralds the return of cosy nights in, office sweepstakes and a plethora of delicious looking bakes to grace our TV screens.
Never seen it? You are in for a treat! 12 contestants bake the cakes of their dreams in an attempt to win star baker and achieve national fame. We love it for the endearingly positive atmosphere from contestants and presenters alike, as well as the all too watchable disaster moments.
All bakes are judged by renowned bakers Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith (for those of you who watched the pre-Prue, close your eyes and Prue does sound quite a lot like Mary Berry - it's like she never left!).
Presented by Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding who are quirky, amusing and lovely - cheering on contestants and consoling them in equal measure.
Filmed in the grounds of a country manor in Berkshire, this year's contestants (pictured above) will battle it out to make it through to the final.
This season features a vegan week: "We wanted something different," explained Paul. "Veganism is something that seems to be growing, and we wanted to represent it on the Bake Off this year." and a Danish week at the request of the Danish-born Sandi. Speaking of, Sandi has never watched an episode of the GBBO, either before or since presenting it!
So if you're looking for a nice programme that highlights the best in humanity through cake, then this is the show for you. Already a fan? Then you don't need convincing! Tune in tonight at 8pm on Channel 4.
